Robin Silvester BDS (Lond) LDS RCS (Eng) is the principal dentist.Robin qualified from The London Hospital Medical College in 1978 and entered practice in N. E. London. In early 1980 he returned to full-time studies and obtained the Primary Fellowship from The Royal College and then resumed general practice this time in the West End of London where he has remained ever since. A sabbatical year was spent working in the Oral Surgery Department at Guy’s Hospital in 1982. In January 1992 he relocated his practice to Paddington Street and established The Marylebone Dental Practice. Robin’s main interest is in providing the treatment that the patient wants in a relaxing environment whether this be simple pain relief or improving the appearance of your teeth and smile.
Alessandro Lamira BDS(Unaerp). Alessandro qualified in 1998 from Sao Paulo with an award for endodontics. He also obtained a post graduate degree and lectured in periodontics in Brazil. Alessandro continues to lecture at Guy’s Hospital. As well as Portuguese and English he also speaks Spanish and Italian.
The Hygienist. At the Marylebone Dental Practice we firmly believe that the hygienist is an integral member of the dental team. Tanuja qualified in Leeds and taught at the Royal London, Parisa qualified in Sweden.
Hygienists are trained at dental teaching hospitals in all aspects of preventative care, including fissure sealant and fluoride treatments, and are of the greatest importance in the prevention and treatment of periodontal or gum disease. To aid the treatment the hygienist may recommend the use of Oraqix which is a short acting non-injectable local anaesthesia or a range of topical antibiotic gels.
The hygienist will advise as to the frequency of suggested visits as these will vary from patient to patient.
Federico Foschi BDS, MSc PhD ( Specialist in Endodontics )
Federico was born in Forli, Italy, in the pleasant countryside close to the Adriatic Sea .
He qualified with a BDS from the University of Bologna. Federico then undertook specialist training in Endodontics in the same University and was awarded an MSc.
After his endodontic training he successfully completed a PhD program in Endodontic Microbiology that included a visiting fellowship at the Forsyth Institute which is an affiliate of Harvard in Boston, MA and was fortunate to be under the supervision of several renowned clinical and academic mentors. The findings of his PhD and other research have been published by the journals of the highest repute in the field of dentistry.
Currently he holds a position as Lecturer in Endodontology at Guy’s Hospital London. He is supervising both undergraduates and postgraduate students involved in Endodontics Master of Clinical Dentistry course Although still involved in academia Federico continues to enjoy treating patients in a kind reassuring manner having developed a growing referral base.
In his spare time Federico enjoys cycling, cooking, running, 20th century history, and of course,
Juventus.
Martina Rosa, BDS, MSc in Endodontics
Martina is originally from Genoa, on the Ligurian Riviera. She obtained her BDS with honours from the University of Genoa. After vocational training she was awarded a fellowship grant to complete an MSc in Endodontics at the University of Bologna.
She has attended several courses in conservative and restorative dentistry and runs, part time, a private practice in Italy in Genoa..
